sunny mission bay

on saturday we went down to meet up with the family that was in town at mission bay. shirley, scott, bill, grandma and grandpa, the thunstroms and great grandpa were all there. we had a picnic. some KFC and the horrible 80 degree weather that had invaded southern California was a recipe for a wonderful Saturday. the kids had a blast because they were out and about, a playground was only a few steps away and with everyone around there was always someone to play with. ethan and i kicked around a soccer ball. bill and ethan went for a long walk, or ethan took bill for a walk around the bay. scott was in town checking out schools and we got to catch up with him, it has been a couple of years since we last saw him. there was just enough breeze to put on a sweater if you were sitting there but just enough sun that if you were moving around you did not need it. i was surprised that there were not more people there at the park. there was a lot of traffic in the water around us.

afterwards we went back to grandmas house for ice cream sundaes. more toppings than one could possible put on one scoop. the cahoons made it over. tessa got to sink her gums into some pool balls. an added bonus is that we get to stock up on oranges and have fresh orange juice for the next couple of days.
