late night

so i am sitting here in the office and makenzie is right here next to me. the time is 10:27 p.m. that is 11:27 p.m. for you folks in Utah and everyone else can just figure it out. to me it is kind of funny because i put ethan down about an hour ago, cherisse was upstairs putting makenzie to sleep and on my way up to put ethan in his bed makenzie was coming down to use the bathroom. coming down the stairs in the dark there are a couple of ways to translate it though and those of you who look at it half empty will say that i am a bad parent for letting my daughter stay up late. i tend to look at it not in any particular way because i could care less how you raise your kid and that high standard you have set for the rest of us peasants. everyone has their own way of doing things, some are very organized, some are not. each of us would not trade spots with anyone else out there, given problems and blessing in our respective lives. it is all a matter on how you look at the situation. you can't have the good and not the bad, package deal.
earlier tonight we went to are ward party over at the bishops house. the kids got to see all of the animals there. lets see first there were the large turtles, geese, peacocks, chickens, chicks, hens, roosters, some big pigs, a black cat, two black and white cows, and some eggs that were being hatched. they each have their own space on the property. makenzie knows how to behave around all of the animals where as ethan is just there to provoke them. he would go up to each cage and grab on with both hands a his shoulder height and shake the respective boarder between him and the animal. the size of the beast did not deter him from doing it. he walked right up to the pigs and growled at them before i pulled him back. he went over to one of the little cages that had some fowl in them, they were not chickens but the little grey and white thing took a couple of shots at ethan's fingers and he kept putting them back in. no blood no foul.
at one point the kids, makenzie and some older kids, were back with the chickens and the bishops son asked if anyone wanted to go and collect the two eggs that were in with the chickens. after a moment makenzie ventured in amongst all of the chickens and picked up the two eggs. this story was told to me by one of the ladies that i home teach.
