casa de smith's cumplido

if anyone can not figure out what the title says then ring up rachel and get her digging through the ol spanish/english dictionary.it is done. granted it is not the size of The 20 Year Dig @ Heathfield. Yeah i might razz dad here on this blog about the house and it not being done but here are some things that i want to point out.
  • this blog is for fun.
  • if something offends you, i will be more than happy to take it off. email me and let me know. austindyer@gmail.com
  • heathfield lane was where all of our memories come from.
  • if you want to look at the bad ones then fine but i am going to try and enjoy and have fun with what we grew up doing, playing, riding in, and so on. yeah we did not have a lot growing up but look at yourself now. where you have come from to where you are at now. granted we still have two at home who are at the bottom of the road waiting for the short bus to come and pick them up, but overall we are all doing great and should not complain.
a few highlights that i am sure will be added upon by april.
the garage is huge. 4 civics big and probably a suburban tall. the unfinished laundry room and extra bedroom is about 85% done. it is not like moving in and having 95% dirt floor in the basement. the 5% was the black plastic.
the pictures might not show it but all of the walls are not painted white. they are a cream color, sorry if i get the hue wrong or the description but i am open to send this to the editor.
nice carpet. not the cheap stuff that has been warming our feet as we grew up on heathfield. april pulled no punches when she went for the stainmaster 4005. once we found this out, ethan quickly pinched one off and wanted a diaper changed. i think that he was trying to get a little on the newly laid carpet but cherisse had her catchers glove on and defended the carpet well. nice padding underneath too.
unlike molly who is going to have the option to pick out everything in her custom home, when you have a tract home like this one and ours you only get options to pick out a few things. the smiths had many options to pick out including the shudders, flooring, bannisters/railings, tile. dyers in cali only had the flooring, and the dyers in oregon were limited by cha-ching, so what you see is what you got.
vaulted ceiling in the kitchen, living room. upgraded fixtures and i am sure i have passed over many things. rocker swithces. bumped (derived from a jean word meaning to move a wall in a direction to add space or character to a house) out the back of the garage to make it bigger.
these pictures were taken pre move in of course, sunday night. nice looking neighborhood. they must be like the 4th or 5th ones that have moved in on their street, many of the other houses are in some stage of completion. they moved in monday and tuesday and so things look a little different now.

nice job.
