pumpkin patch 2007
so on Saturday we ventured out with the thunstrom's to a pumpkin patch with tessa on her first real trip out of the house, not counting the doctors visit. makenzie knew the routine and ethan was just happy to be out of the house and out in the open able to run around. they had a bunch of things to do there:
- a kids hay maze - they had a blast running back and forth
- pony rides - had to be the highlight for makenzie. they brought out a little pony for ethan and that one really gave ethan a ride because it was smaller so for each step that the larger ones would take this one would have to take 2.
- face painting - after working out the line situation the kids got their arms painted. passed on the whole face thing. weak painting too, more like color by numbers, or fill in the stamp on their arm, all that matters is that the kids enjoyed it and they did. ethan even sat still for the whole thing. makenzie is a great example for her younger brother
- a hay ride sans hay - an old tractor took us all around the corn maze on a rickety old wagon that looked like it was a couple of good bumps away from turning into a wood pile.
- kernels of corn pit - they got to play in the corn nuts, minus the ranch or bbq flavoring. i would say it was better than sand, color is nicer but i can only imagine all of the rats that you would have in your backyard if you had one of these.
