Hike it up to Timpanogas cave 8/24-Pioneer Day
It's about a 40 min hike up the mountain to the cave entrance. We had to wait 2 hours to start the hike up so we hiked up the river a bit and waded across it to cool off.
Great views on the trail on the way up and animals were following us. A huge spider on the way up and Chip & Dale on the way down. I was freaked out that Charlotte was about to bust her egg sack and her million little babies would eat me. So i stayed away. The chipmunks on the way down, though, were not so scary. The one kept following us down then met up with a friend. They warmed up to us and Ernest almost got to pet them until the hikers behind us scared them off.
The caves were cool, literally. It's a constant 40 degrees in there year round. It was hot so we didn't bother to take sweatshirts which would have been nice. It started raining on the way up the mountain so that made it even cooler.
Our cave guide had a sweet spirit. Normally the tours take 45 min but ours took an hour because little miss Provo took her sweet time. The cave was really cool but you can only look at the same rock formations for so long before you're ready for the next.
Fun trip though and all in our backyard!
